After spending over 40 years in the hospitality industry, it was time to retire—but not from creating or caring. In late 2022, Dwaz Creations & Events was born, turning a lifetime of experience and passion into a business with heart.

What started as a humble sewing initiative—making pregnancy pillows, baby clothing, adult blankets, and throws—quickly grew into something more. Today, Dwaz Creations & Events proudly offers a blend of sewing, baking, event planning, and community upliftment.

Every week, we welcome four previously disadvantaged women into our space, teaching them the art of sewing. They are given full access to our sewing machines, empowering them to develop skills and earn a small income—often their first step toward independence. This is more than a class; it’s a doorway to opportunity.

Our journey into baking began with Cupcakes for Cancer and soon expanded to include baked treats for children’s parties, private gatherings, and small events. Each batch is made with care, often bringing smiles to both clients and causes close to our heart.

 Our events are crafted with dedication and detail. We coordinate approximately five high-quality events per year, including the ANC National Conference, EFF National Conference, and the Motorola Solutions Sales Conference for two consecutive years. Each event is a celebration of connection, culture, and community. Charity is deeply woven into the fabric of our business. Every year, we hand-make and donate over 200 blankets to local old-age homes, including Mooihaven in Amanzimtoti and Poinsettia Park. These initiatives are a tribute to the spirit of care that drives everything we do.

Though we are still a young business, our mission is bold: to empower more women through sewing, baking, and event training; to provide resources and mentorship that allow others to start their own ventures; and to use creativity as a tool for change in communities where it’s most needed. At Dwaz Creations & Events, we believe that success is sweeter when it’s shared—and every stitch, sprinkle, and celebration brings us closer to that goal.
